Updated! Bachmann Wins
Sartell MN – Although other races in Minnesota finished some time ago with Democrats winning both houses, defeating two Republican Amendments, re-electing Amy Klobuchar to the Senate and Democrat Nolan defeating a Republican incumbent in Minnesota’s Eighth Congressional District, the vote counting in the Michele Bachmann ( R ) – Jim Graves ( D ) Sixth Congressional District finished only moments ago. The final vote tally was

According to ABC local, early in the morning when the recount was still ongoing local businessman JIm Graves (D) said a recount was likely. However, the final count appeared to put him out of reach so he conceded at 10:10AM. Under Minnesota’s recount law, Graves may request a recount. The closeness of the vote reflected favorable redistricting for Michele Bachmann in a heavily pro-life district with many jobs in the financial sector. In addition, Bachmann spent more than any congressperson in history ($23 million), outspending her opponent 11 to 1. Finally, Michele Bachmann received help from the media. ABC local falsely argued that Graves’ first campaign commercial was misleading while Michele Bachmann’s first commercial was largely correct. The Impartial Review News found ABC local got it backwards. However, former President Bill Clinton’s final campaign stop gave the Graves’ campaign a boost. In the above video, Michele Bachmann claims that carbon dioxide is a harmless gas.
